Welcome Back!

 Happy New Year everyone!

Just a couple of reminders and bits and pieces:

Forest School is still on a Tuesday

PE is still on Friday.  This half term we are concentrating on Gymnastics.

Our current mantle is called 'The Disappearing Island' and we are getting going with finding out what this entails.  It will be more of a Science based Mantle than the Romans- which concentrated on History.

Please continue to focus on times tables at home.

In SPAG please could you ask your children to concentrate on writing a couple of sentences each week with either Fronted Adverbials, or embedded clauses in them?

Thanks

First week of December

 Greetings Badgers!

It's got really cold all of a sudden.

With this in mind, I've got 3 tasks that I would like you to complete at home:

a) write a wintry poem that rhymes. Maximum of 10 lines!

b) keep warm on Doodle Maths

c) Draw and label a picture of your ideal holiday destination.

What do you call a blind reindeer?

 Home learning -

Why was the snowman seen in the carrot section of the supermarket?

Ask me to find out!

Thankyou everyone who did their learning at the weekend.

This week I have three tasks for you:

1. Write a short character description of someone at home - it can be a human or an animal!

2. Create 3 multiplication triangles so that you can teach your grown ups how they work.

3. Complete the tasks on Doodle!

Ciao,

Home learning week 3 (16/11/21)

 Hi Badgers!

Thankyou to those who have given in their home learning, it was amazing!

This week I have 3 tasks for you:

1. Find and tell me a joke that you think I will like.

2. Design an alternative cover for Krindlekrax

3. Teach your parents about dividing with remainders - use items in your house?  Pretend you are in a restaurant like we did?  Share lego bricks between you all.  Take pictures so that I can see you dividing and conquering those remainders!

Thanks

Welcome Back - Week 2

Dear Badgers and Parents,
Thankyou all for your time in Parent Teacher Meetings - it was great to discuss learning with you all!
We have a couple of Mantle Sessions left with the Roman Legion before we move onto our next Mantle - I've really enjoyed exploring the Romans with you and can't wait to start our new Mantle.

There are some tasks for you to do on Doodle - well done to those who look regularly!
I would also like you to create a poster helping people to remember the difference between some of our spellings - wait and weight, plane and plain, there and their.  See how creative you can be!
If you need any help, or resources don't forget to ask!

Thanks
Mr Small 😀

End of half term!

 Wow Badgers,

I can't believe that it is already coming up for half term!  This term has flown past.  A massive well done for all your learning so far, I am very impressed.

Over half term I would like you to do a couple of things.

1. Relax and smile :)

2. Read at least one fiction book and one non-fiction book.  (More is fine!)

3. Think about which times tables you find tricky and practice those - use Doodle times tables, write them out, use post it notes etc etc

4. Have a go at designing a mosaic on squared paper. This is available from school if you need it!  Then, check out the Rotten Romans on Horrible Histories!

Stay safe and happy

First live post

Welcome to the first live post of the Badger blog!

On here you will find maths tasks, literacy tasks and an assortment of other tasks.  We can also use this to share wonderful work and amazing Mantle ideas.

For maths this week, I would like you to create a poster helping people remember a times table.  You can choose one you already know, or one of the ones we have been looking at in class. (Please scan and send to whaddonteachers@gmail.com )

We will be looking at the spelling of the suffix -tion this week and next.  Can you find as many words as you can that end in -tion?

In Mantle we have looked at the Roman army.  To help your understanding of Roman Gods and Goddesses, please could you research a God and find 5 facts about them.

Thanks

Mr Small
